One floodgate is partially open at Starcke Dam and at Wirtz Dam to release storm runoff from overnight rains. Flows will be fast and water levels will be higher than usual downstream of the dams. Many areas of the upper basin received 3 to 4 inches of rain over the last couple of days, with some areas receiving 7 or 8 inches. Many area tributaries that have been dry because of the ongoing drought are now flowing again. LCRA is closely monitoring conditions and encourages the public to take action to protect people and property that may be affected.
