Tips and strategies for reducing water waste from LCRA

Know when to stop
On average, irrigation systems use 2,500-3,000 gallons of water each time they run. If you water twice a week, that’s almost 20,000 gallons of water a month! Sign up at WaterMyYard for free localized recommendations on how long to run your irrigation system to maintain a healthy lawn.

Watch the clock
Avoid watering outdoors between 10 a.m.-7 p.m. During the heat of the day, much of the water will be lost to evaporation.
