  • We continue to receive complaints from residents regarding ordinance violations including:
    • Too many pets at a residence – Ord. #36
    • Shrubs and trees are too close to the streets and street intersections. – Ord. #37
    • Shrubs are too tall. – Ord. #37
    • Dead trees must be removed to maintain public safety and to avoid structure damage.
    • Homes in need of repair – Ord. #58
    • Parking trailers, golf carts and other vehicles in yards and right of ways – Ord. #59
  • Warning letters and citations to the property owners are the next steps for violations.

     “…unlawful to maintain more than two (2) dogs and/or two (2) cats per household within the city limits of The City.”

    Ord. #37, Maintenance of Hedges and Fences
    Section 4. RESTRICTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
    “C. Shrubs, bushes and other vegetation planted for the purpose of screening, or in such a manner as to create a hedge, shall be maintained at a maximum height of six (6) feet.”
    “F. Fences, walls, hedges and/or any other screening structures shall not be constructed or allowed to grow outside of a twenty (20) foot set back from the intersection of the streets abutting any corner lot.”

    “Property owners shall maintain residence and outbuildings in a manner that does not detract from neighborhood appearance and the property values of adjacent property owners. Maintenance includes, but is not limited to, periodic painting, masonry repair as needed, replacement of damaged windows and screens, and roof repairs.”

    “1. Storage in residential districts: Storage of all types of vehicles, to include trailers, in residential districts is limited to carports, garages, and upon a hard surfaced pad behind a privacy fence in side or rear yards.”
